We're adding the ability for administrators and instructors to add Enrollment Notes to individual student enrollments, bringing important contextual information to the surface that can assist in managing student progress, communication, and academic support.

Add detailed notes��as needed from the section Gradebook or the Student Curriculum Details page to document behavioral insights, progress tracking, activity expectations, or special needs and keep an ongoing communication log inside your Courseware program.

Florida Research: Predict FAST scores with Exact Path

A 2024 study provides evidence that Exact Path diagnostic assessments yield highly accurate predictions of student test results on the Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST). This research study linked fall and winter Exact Path diagnostic scores to FAST scores from the first two progress monitoring windows (PM1/fall and PM2/winter) in grades 6-8 in math and 6-10 in English language arts. Linking study results demonstrated that Exact Path Diagnostic scores could be used to predict whether students would be above or below the FAST passing cut score with 82%-91% accuracy. Progress Check Review Answers for Teachers

To help ensure all educators have quick access to the resources they need to help students overcome learning barriers, we're updating Exact Path's Progress Check review to display the correct answer to questions alongside student answers. With this update, educators will be able to more quickly identify student misconceptions and jump into action to keep them moving towards success.��

Educators access a student's Progress Check through the Knowledge Map drawer by selecting “Progress Check” in the navigation pane, then hovering over the Progress Check skill tile and clicking on “Review Skill”. Selecting the "Show the Correct Answer" toggle will turn on the correct answer for the item.

Student Trophy Tracking Update

Ensuring all stakeholders have easy access to data that represents students' current school year and historical skill mastery progress is essential in driving successful short- and long-term intervention planning and goal setting.

We're updating the default Trophy Tracker counts in the student experience to show the number of trophies earned in the current academic year, in addition to providing students access to their all-time trophy count. This improvement will be implemented across the K-2, 3-5, and 6+ student experiences.

This update will help streamline the ways teachers and students work together to track and accelerate academic progress.

Fluency Tasks to Enhance Universal Screening

We've added 2 new K-3 fluency task types to allow educators to identify and address students' decoding, word reading, and spelling difficulties: Nonsense Word Fluency and Letter Sound Fluency.

Nonsense Word Fluency tasks are used to screen for possible decoding problems and Letter Sound Fluency tasks are a strong predictor of reading readiness, such as word reading and spelling. These 24 brand-new oral fluency tasks can be used in conjunction with the reading diagnostic and other fluency tasks to universally screen students for reading difficulties including indicators of dyslexia.

Exact Path K-3 fluency tasks are one-minute oral fluency assessments designed to calculate words per minute and reading accuracy. Students read a printed passage aloud while the teacher simultaneously records any errors on their own printed document. These tasks can be regularly administered to inform instructional needs and results can be tracked within the system for progress reporting. When the Exact Path reading diagnostic is administered in combination with a fluency task, teachers leverage the resulting data to universally screen for reading difficulties and determine whether a student has risk factors for dyslexia.

Fluency Tasks to Enable Universal Screening

We've launched 108 brand-new K-3 oral fluency tasks and oral fluency progress monitoring to enable universal screening for reading difficulties and dyslexia risk factors. Teachers use the Exact Path diagnostic in conjunction with oral fluency tasks to identify, communicate, and target the fundamental literacy needs of students to accelerate their journey to reading proficiency.

Exact Path K-3 fluency tasks are one-minute oral fluency assessments designed to calculate words per minute and reading accuracy. Students read a printed passage aloud while the teacher simultaneously records any errors on their own printed document. These tasks can be regularly administered to inform instructional needs and results can be tracked within the system for progress reporting. When the Exact Path reading diagnostic is administered in combination with a fluency task, teachers leverage the resulting data to universally screen for reading difficulties and determine whether a student has risk factors for dyslexia.

We improved the overall experience for our middle school core subject courses by offering more customization, easier assignment submission, and streamlined grading workflows.

We continue to build on an initial Apex course integration with notable improvements to the Courseware course experience, including:

We introduced two pacing and progress-focused updates designed to help drive student accountability toward successful on-time course completion and success.

On-Target Grade offers educators and students a meaningful new data point for tracking performance, by providing an average grade of all completed and scored activities students are expected to have completed by the target date. While Current Grade provides an average of only work students have completed, and Course Grade provides an average of all work available in the course—both those activities students have and haven’t completed, On-Target Grade splits the difference, by answering the question: Based on my expectations of where students should be tracking, what is the learner’s grade right now?

Additionally, we've made On-Target Grade even more powerful by also introducing editable Target Dates. This update allows educators to make adjustments to when specific activities should be completed, either for an individual student or for entire sections. Do you want to give a specific student an extension on an activity? Edit the Target Date of when that activity is due, and the learner isn’t penalized for their tardy assignment in their On-Target Grade.

New AZ Research: Higher AASA Scores After Completing 8+ Skills

Edmentum is excited to share the results of it's Arizona efficacy study! A rigorous study examined the impact of Exact Path usage in grades 4-8 on state assessment scores in math during the 2021-2022 school year in a large school district in the Western United States. This research study correlated scores on Exact Path diagnostic assessments across testing windows (Fall, Winter, and Spring) with scores on the spring 2019 SC READY. Strong correlations were found between Exact Path diagnostic assessment scores and SC READY scores across all content areas, grades (3-8), and seasons. Executive Function Teacher-Led Activities

To support early learners in K-2, we are now providing all educators with access to Edmentum's instructional activities for executive function skills. These teacher-led activities are designed for small-group and whole-class instruction, and help students learn skills to sustain attention, resist distraction, tolerate frustration, reflect on past experiences, and plan for the future.
