Exact Path Diagnostic and the Louisiana Assessment of Educational Progress (LEAP) Correlational Study
Full Report
Brief

Exact Path diagnostic assessment scores in math, reading, and language arts are highly correlated to Louisiana Educational Assessment Program (LEAP) across all subjects and seasons in grades 3-8, Algebra I, Geometry, and English I and II. Additionally, we found high correlations between Exact Path diagnostic scores from Grades 1 and 2 in mathematics, reading, and language arts and LEAP Grade 3 scores from 1-2 years later. These results support use of Exact Path as an early indicator of student achievement in mathematics, reading, and English language arts, and a strong predictor of success on LEAP high school assessments
In preparation for LEAP assessments, educators can use Exact Path diagnostic results to:
- Identify students who need additional support
- Prioritize content areas to focus on
- Inform data-driven instruction and targeted intervention
- Help ensure that students are on track to meet academic standards and graduation requirements
